Social Inclusion
Our standard was surpassed for including individuals with disability as experts in the development, delivery, and advisory of Abilities Centre initiatives through Mixed Ability Sport and the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility (IDEA) strategy.
5 organizations across Canada committed to achieving accessibility and inclusion guided by Abilities Centre’s LEAD to develop action plans to make this happen.
Health & Well-Being
3,748 students across Ontario received support for their physical and mental health through targeted programming that engaged young people in inclusive physical activity and social interaction.
The COVID-19 National Disability Survey has generated the most comprehensive physical activity data for people with disabilities in Canada. Check it out here and consider participating to help us continue with this success for our fellow Canadians.
Economic Participation
290 participants worked towards meeting their goals and developing new skills that equip and support them in their participation in all aspects of our Canadian
society and economy.
Increased investment was made into virtual education programs and training opportunities to support the health needs of our community, promote inclusion in employment, sport and recreation, and develop inclusive physical literacy for people of all ages.
