Adam has been a long-time trust volunteer of Abilities Centre. He started out as a member of our Thrive program and began volunteering his time to help out for programs like ASAD, Child Sport and Games and additional campaigns and events like the Tim Hortons Cookie campaign. “It’s not like other gyms, there’s more space and you’re involved,” he explains.
Thanks to the skills he learned from the Thrive program, such as life skills and photography, Adam is able to grow his experiences. He is a proud staff member of our Child Sports and Games program, where he enjoys playing sports like floor hockey with the kids.
“Never give up and keep on encouraging people. It may be hard, but if somebody is struggling with a sport, there’s always ways and variations you can help them achieve their goal.”
Thanks for sharing your story Adam and we are so happy to have you at the Centre and a part of the team!
