On behalf of our team at Abilities Centre, thank you for your patience during the first month of this extraordinary time. We are very grateful for the many expressions of support we have received from across our member community and encouraged by the many stories you’ve shared of how you are coping, staying grounded and staying active.

We certainly understand the personal, emotional and financial stress that the COVID-19 pandemic may have placed on you and your family, and want to reassure you that you will receive the full value of any commitments to the centre that are disrupted due to COVID-19.

As an additional measure, we are placing your membership payments on hold effective immediately.

All member payments will be credited retroactive to March 1, 2020. Any membership payments for March or April will be credited when the facility reopens at a future date to be determined. However, if you require immediate customer service support, please contact us at mst@abilitiescentre.org, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

While our centre may be closed, we are continuing our mission of making our community more inclusive and accessible for people of all abilities, and ensuring the health, safety and well-being of our entire Abilities Centre family.

As a charity, our membership base plays a transformational role in supporting us to fulfil our mission in ensuring every individual, regardless of ability, can realize their full potential and participate fully in community life. If you would like to continue to financially support us during this time, you can do so by visiting www.abilitiescentre.org/donate

Starting this week, will also be reaching out to all members by phone to connect with you, share an update on our activities, and learn more about how we may help support you. We also encourage you to visit our website at www.abilitiescentre.org to stay informed and to follow us on social media.

Please know that your continued encouragement and support helps us chart a path for a bright future of helping people of all abilities across Durham Region, Ontario and Canada to achieve their goals.

Thank you for being a part of our community and for your support in helping all of us tackle this challenge together.
