ASAD makes high-performance sport training available to aspiring young athletes from a variety of backgrounds.  Programming is focussed on athletic and academic achievement.

ASAD programming in Fort Providence launched early in September in collaboration with Physical Literacy NWT and the Aboriginal Sport Circle NWT. Currently there are nine student-athletes enrolled earning Career and Technology Studies (CTS) credits.  Sessions include weekly Strength & Conditioning sessions, mental performance workshops, sport nutrition seminars, and sport-specific training (hockey, judo, and table tennis).

Student-athletes also welcomed Beth Hudson from the Aboriginal Sport Circle NWT who provided education on the Northern and Dene Games, which will be introduced as sport-specific training in October.
