Fostering confidence and community participation
Community-based programs for individuals with disabilities in Durham Region who want to build practical skills, pursue their goals, and participate in their communities.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate fully in community life. Abilities Centre’s Community Services programs work alongside people with disabilities to reduce barriers, access community resources, build practical skills, and create opportunities for meaningful connection and participation.
Our Community Services team takes a hands-on, real-world approach. Rather than practicing skills in a classroom, participants learn by doing, taking trips, using transit, and engaging with their community alongside trained staff who provide support as needed.
