Respiratory and Cardiac Maintenance is a post-rehabilitation program for those who have a chronic lung or cardiac condition. This program will allow you to continue your exercise routine after completion of a rehabilitation program.

At Abilities Centre, we aim to allow for a continuation of programming and support to assist in your physical health and in turn, your emotional and mental health as you improve your quality of life. This class is instructed by trained fitness instructors.

We keep track of your progress by using a personalized exercise log book to record aerobic exercises.

RCM classes are 60 minutes long and involve:

  • 30 minutes of aerobic exercise (walking, low-speed cycling, etc.)

  • 30 minutes of structured strength training and flexibility exercises (led by a fitness instructor)

*Please note: you must complete a physician referral form by a referring doctor or healthcare specialist to be accepted into this program. Please find this form attached to the brochure link below. Once completed and signed, please return it to our Welcome Desk and schedule an assessment before finalizing your registration*
